Description Fine Print

Brunsvigia bosmaniae is a famous South African bulb that puts on a dazzling floral display after late summer rains when fields of large, Allium-like, spherical inflorescences at least 12 inches wide bloom in great numbers with their trumpet-shaped pink flowers that smell of Narcissus, especially at night. Candelabra lily also has incredible leaves that emerge in fall and winter and look like a giant starfish. They number 5-8, are 8-12 inches long and tongue-like with red edges, and lie flat on the ground. Keep on the dry side when dormant in summer perhaps watering only once a month. Plant the bulb mostly buried with the neck just above the soil. This is a non-hardy bulb that can be grown as a houseplant or in a heated greenhouse or sunroom. It's perfect for those interested in bulbs and houseplants and for succulent lovers looking to branch out. Our nursery-grown bulbs are 5 years old, just a few years away from being adult blooming size.
