Clematis viticella 'Betty Corning' has understated yet lovely form and colour plus fragrance! The pale lilac flowers are nodding and bell-shaped and so elegant for a special place in the garden. The scent is light but when plants produce hundreds of flowers it will definitely contribute to the olfactory experience in your garden! It is a member of the Viticella Group which were the first clematis grown in English gardens beginning in the 1500s. They bloom from July to September and are hardy to zone 3. Tolerant of part shade. Pruning group C - hard prune in early spring to about one foot from the ground.
