Description Fine Print

Colocasia esculenta 'Tropical Storm' is a taro or elephant's ear with huge, dramatic, heart-shaped, purple-black leaves that develop creamy white centres as the season progresses. A more compact  cultivar than its relatives of only two and a half feet tall and wide. The blooms consist of a spathe and spadix that are yellow-green and produced infrequently. Grow as a marginal plant in ponds or in pots or beds for its foliage with evenly moist soil. Though potentially hardy they are best brought in as a houseplant. Hardy to zone 7b.
