Description Fine Print

Actaea japonica is a more uncommon species of bugbane (formerly Cimicifuga). The plants have heuchera- or maple-like leaves rather than compound leaves in attractive mounds with airy, bottle brush-like wands of white flowers from pink buds that reach 30 inches tall on dark stems from midsummer through to late fall. 'Silver Dance' is a special form with leaves with rounded lobes that emerge silver with green veins maturing to light green. Attracts bees and is heat tolerant and deer resistant.
