Allium jesdianum 'Early Emperor' is a large ornamental onion that is unusual and valuable in that it blooms early, typically in mid spring along with late tulips, late daffodils, camas, and bluebells, with big heads of purple flowers on tall stems to three feet tall. It makes a stunning architectural focal point in the spring garden heralding the start of the season of big-flowered Allium.
