Allium sativum var. ophioscorodon, also known as serpent garlic, is a very special variety of garlic with curious twisting stems that create a cool sculptural effect in the garden, especially planted en masse. The summer flowers are white to green on stems up to three feet high. Available in fall as dry bulbs and sometimes in spring as potted plants.
