Ammocharis nerinoides is a rare amaryllis relative that is endemic to the Gobabis and Etoshapan Districts of Namibia. It is a desert bulb that grows in seasonally flooded river beds. It has narrow, strap-like leaves up to 16 inches long and beautiful white and pink flowers with dark pink ribs on the reverses that number up to seven per umbel. The flowers are extremely fragrant and bloom in summer. Keep completely dry in winter. Plant with the top of the neck at soil level. This is a non-hardy bulb that can be grown as a houseplant or in a heated greenhouse or sunroom. It's perfect for those interested in bulbs and houseplants and for succulent lovers looking to branch out. Our bulbs are adult blooming size and nursery-grown.
