Brunsvigia namaquana is a rare, dwarf species from the winter rainfall area of Namaqualand with 3-4 unusual leaves covered in golden bristles and zygomorphic flowers that are not star-like but have one plane of symmetry like an amaryllis. The flowers are light pink with touches of white and a yellow green throat. Plant the bulb mostly buried with the neck just above the soil. This is a non-hardy bulb that can be grown as a houseplant or in a heated greenhouse or sunroom. It's perfect for those interested in bulbs and houseplants and for succulent lovers looking to branch out. Our nursery-grown bulbs are 3 years old as of 2023. We are unsure at what age this species will reach blooming size but other species will bloom around 6-10 years of age.
