Description Fine Print

This fantastic butterfly bush has giant clusters of lavender purple flowers more than a foot long and wide that dwarf all other cultivars! The plant that was to become one of the best of all Buddleja cultivars was found in Devon in 1971 by Mr. Hayles, a retired gardener. Walking with his wife he spied an unusual buddleia flowering on the edge of a ravine. With his trustworthy bride clinging onto his ankles, Hayles valiantly reached down to collect a few cuttings. Or something like that! 'Dartmoor' was released to the gardening public just a few years later. It is not sterile and is best not grown close to native habitats especially dry habitats of the Georgia Basin.
