Clematis cirrhosa 'Freckles' is an evergreen, winter-blooming species with fragrant, white, bell-shaped flowers from December into February on the West Coast, earlier than any other clematis. The interiors of the flowers are heavily speckled with burgundy-red. The foliage is glossy and dark green. Attractive, fluffy seed heads follow the flowers. Pruning group A.
