Clematis terniflora (syn. C. paniculata) is known as the sweet autumn clematis. It is a large, vigorous species that produces thousands of white, star-like, fragrant flowers in late summer and fall. Pruning group A, B, or C, depending on your preference. It can be evergreen in mild climates. Give it space to grow into large trees, across large pergolas, or as a ground cover for slopes and other open spaces. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
