Description Fine Print

Crocus laevigatus 'Fontenayi' is a rare fall-flowering species sometimes called the smooth crocus with lovely lavender flowers with dark purple feathers on the outside of the petals and bright orange pistils.  Endemic to Kriti, Greece. Some sites suggest hardiness to zone 3 while others suggest 5 or 6. We won't know the full story of hardiness until more gardeners try it in cold climates.
