Cydonia oblonga 'Le Borgeot' is an heirloom quince tree that is making a comeback for its many enticing attributes. Delicate pinkish-white flowers emerge in spring followed by large crops of very hard, highly aromatic pear to round shaped fruit in autumn. The fruit is covered in fuzz and is not palatable in its raw state but makes incredible jellies and quince paste or membrillo and other desserts. Self-fruiting too, however, a second cultivar will increase yield. This trouble-free tree reaches 15 feet tall and wide. Attracts butterflies. Deer resistant. Photo credit Wikipedia.
