Emil' resembles its parents, the European lady's slipper (C. calceolus) and the North American yellow lady's slipper (C. parviflorum var. parviflorum), but is much easier to grow in the garden. This hybrid grows to about 35-50 cm (14-19 inches). The intensely coloured deep yellow pouch is offset by rich reddish burgundy tepals opening in mid spring. Strong plants occasionally produce two blooms on one stem. Grown from seed. Plants will resemble the image but may not be identical. Lady's slipper hybrids are much more vigorous and easy to grow than species. Well cared for clumps can double their flowering stems ever year! Blooming size.
