Fragaria virginiana, known as wild or Virginia strawberry, is native to BC and the rest of North America. It has attractive leaves comprised of three toothed leaflets, classic white flowers with yellow centres, and small, sweet, red, edible strawberry fruits. Use it as an edible ground cover. This species was crossed with F. chiloensis to create the modern strawberry, F. x ananassa. Photo: Wikipedia.
