Globba schomburgkii or golden dancing ladies has large, dark green, tropical leaves on two foot stems dangling with large, golden yellow clusters of branched, ginger-like flowers. It's pretty spectacular. This species is the most cold hardy Globba in cultivation and arguably the most showy. Often grown in shaded areas, G. schomburgkii is tolerant of more sun which should aid in bringing it into bloom. Grow as a potted specimen and protect indoors in cold climates. Please note that it is very late to break dormancy and you may not see it emerge until summer when it will leaf out and bloom soon after.
