Hippeastrum 'Bengal Tiger' is a stunning, extremely rare, and appropriately named amaryllis with large flowers striped with dark orange and ivory white with a green throat on black stems atop shiny, green linear foliage. Grow in a sunny location (usually in a pot) outside in summer. Fertilize well. Allow autumn frosts to hit the foliage then bring inside, chop off the leaves and allow to dry out in the dark. Give light and water when a bud or new foliage appears. Great in pots and as cut flowers or outdoors in protected locations in coastal BC. Bulbs are naturally small. We sell them at blooming size.
