Maianthemum racemosum subsp. amplexicaule is a spectacular western North American native perennial with erect to somewhat arching stems with alternate, clasping, elliptic to ovate leaves and terminal inflorescences of foamy, pure white flowers followed by greenish yellow berries with reddish spots slowly filling in until the berries are all bright red. Resembles a Solomon's seal in habit with the difference being in the flowers. Formerly known as Smilacina racemosa.
