Malus domestica 'Cox's Orange Pippin' is a small to medium sized heirloom connoisseur's variety with golden yellow skin with orange-red striping. The flesh is white, firm, fine-grained and crisp with a complex, multi-dimensional aromatic, sweet-tart flavour of pear, melon, freshly-squeezed orange juice and mango! Great for fresh eating and said to be amazing for apple pies. A mid-season, late picking variety. Discovered in England in the early 1800s and remains one of the most famous varieties today. Rootstock: B.9 (Dwarf). Photo credit Wikipedia.
