Opuntia polyacantha x ericacea 'Golden Globe' is a prickly pear cactus from the Sauvie Island in Oregon. It produces densely petaled flowers in golden-yellow with orange stamens followed by purple fruit. Pads are shaggy and upright to about 5 inches big and wide. Growth habit is 8 - 10 inches high and forms a spreading mat 36 - 48 inches. Requires full sun with very sharp, careful drainage as this species is a cliff dweller. Much more drought tolerant than other cactus.
