Fine Print
Scadoxus pole-evansii (syn. Haemanthus) is similar in size and habit to S. multiflorus subsp. katharinae and can reach four feet high but with umbels of orange to salmon-pink flowers that have pronounced petals. The decorative red berries can remain on the plant for up to two months. The broad, rippled, light green leaves emerge with the flowers. Use as a pot specimen placed in the part shade to part sun garden and bring inside for the winter. Keep dry when dormant. Our nursery-grown bulbs are 4 years old as of 2023 and will take a few years to reach adult blooming size.
Large blooming size bulbs.
