Anaphalis margaritacea also known as pearly everlasting has crisp papery white flowers used for dried winter ornaments. It blooms in the garden long after all other flowers are past. Can also be used to border gravel driveways. It looks nice in combination with the blue violet flowers of native asters or showy daisy. The whole plant can be used for dyes or as incense, and it has been used as medicine in the past.
