This hardy tea plant (Camellia sinensis) is from the area around Sochi, Russia where they produce the most northerly tea in the world. Tea from these plants is very aromatic and flavourful. 'Karatum' is prized for its upright, easy-to-harvest form and vigorous growth perfect for containers or for use as an edible hedge. Use it for green or black teas. The flowers are white to creamy white.
