Description Fine Print

Colocasia esculenta Royal Hawaiian 'Waikiki' is a stunning taro or elephant ear with large, dramatic, arrow-shaped, corrugated and variegated, glossy green leaves with broad, white coloured bands highlighted in pink running down their centres and radiating out into the veins over dark purple stems. Plants begin to show variegation at the 4-5 leaf stage prior to which they are all green. Summer blooms consist of a yellow-green spathe and spadix. Grow as a marginal plant by ponds or in pots or beds with evenly moist soil. Though potentially hardy they are best brought in as a houseplant over winter. Deer and rabbit resistant. Hardy to zone 7b.
