Cypripedium x alaskanum is a naturally occurring hybrid of C. yatabeanum and C. guttatum from Alaska. It is a peculiar yet wonderful species with small slippers with blotches of burgundy overlaying a white background. Plants can produce two flowers per stem which grow from a creeping rhizome that spreads like a ground cover. Grows to 20-30 cm (8-12 in.) high. Blooms in May. Lady's slipper hybrids are much more vigorous and easy to grow than species. Produced by division. All plants are identical. Well cared for clumps can double their flowering stems ever year! Blooming size. More info on our Frosch Cypripedium: www.cypripedium.de.
