Tulipa 'Black and White' is a true Broken tulip from about 1920. It has stunning white flowers feathered with purple-black, dark purple, and warm purple. Every flower will be different. Large hybrid tulips can be maintained in the garden if given a sunny location with rich soil and slow release fertilizer when in growth. Hybrid tulips can persist in the garden for many years. Afterall, they rebloom each year in the fields of the Netherlands. Provide full sun where bulbs aren't shaded by other plants, fertilize with bulb food as soon as they emerge in spring, and allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
