Musa laterita is a dwarf banana variety that is notable for its upright growth habit with leaves pointing upwards, not spreading. The upright flower bracts are red to coral pink peeling open to reveal the tubular, yellow flowers. The small fruit are edible but contain seeds. Numerous suckers are usually borne from rhizomes originating from mother plant. Great in containers.
