Crocus sieberi 'Firefly' has striking bicolour buds of orange-yellow and lavender opening to reveal lavender outer petals and white inner petals. It is fragrant. Species, or snow crocus, are some of the first bulbs to emerge in the late winter, two weeks before other forms. They will grow anywhere grass does, but don't mow them until the foliage dies back.
