Freesia laxa (syn. Anomatheca laxa) is a cute South African iris relative with spiky fan shaped leaves resembling a dwarf Crocosmia with clusters of bright scarlet red flowers with dark red markings that appear in late spring. It is easy to grow and drought tolerant though may go dormant in a hot dry summer. Hardy to about zone 7b.
